P01-19 Building a cross-sectoral collaboration to support insight, intelligence and innovation for physical activity promotion in Ireland

Abstract Issue The national physical activity plan (NPAP) for Ireland originated from an interdepartmental, cross-disciplinary structure that was put in place to promote population (PA) levels. There is a documented gap between research, policy and practice which hinders this promotion of levels PA. Irish Physical Activity Research Collaboration (I-PARC) established play key role contributing the outcomes NPAP, including creation platform enables knowledge translation sharing valuable insight. Description Methods Using elements participatory action collaboration encompasses 1) cross-sectoral buy interaction reflect upon understand current PA landscape Ireland, 2) provides strategies ensuring any collaborative outputs are effectively shared with those relevant, 3) professionals generate common aim objectives I-PARC, identify added value sustaining such collaboration. Results To date, I-PARC has gained stakeholders (N = 20) involved across government departments 3), agencies 5) research institutes 4) Ireland. Furthermore, Practitioner Advisory Group (PAG; N 25), Panel (RAP; members 140). This generated reinforced through website, social media account led events. Feedback events focus groups PAG shows collaboration, as needed support insight, intelligence innovation enable more people be active Lessons Key learnings show generating stakeholders, creating reinforcing aim, use plan, identifying need have aided establishing I-PARC.
